Jarrod Bechtold is the owner and founder of Advantage Equipment. After 13 years in the landscape industry, Jarrod recognized the gap in equipment for many of the jobs his company was trying to perform.
Everyone can appreciate the right tool for the job. Metaphorically, at one time or another we have all tried to use a spoon when we needed a shovel. On large projects, where a skid steer or an excavator would have been the best choice, there was often concern for tearing up the customer’s lawn or being able to fit a large machine into a backyard. So, like many landscapers, Jarrod would settle for “lesser equipment.” Mini-skid steers were the industry solution for many years to prevent ground damage and access tight spaces. Talk about using a spoon when you need a shovel…mini-skid steers were a sad, slow, under-performing excuse to solve the problem.
After years of searching and looking for other options, Jarrod discovered the category of equipment called the Miniature Articulating Loader. There are a few manufacturers of this equipment but the manufacturer making the biggest waves is Avant Techno. These Finland-born machines are truly a feat of engineering. Solving many of the problems described above, they caught Jarrod’s attention.
